Who we are
Who are we?
Wednesfield Methodist Community Church consists of a wide range of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are, you can be assured that you will receive a very warm welcome at Wednesfield.
When should I arrive?
Sunday Morning Worship begins at 11.00 a.m. If you are driving then please use the car park in front of our building, which is limited, and if full you can park in front or in nearby streets. You’ll be greeted in the foyer and given information about the church, worship and hymn books, and notices of forthcoming events.
Our Cafe Worship is at 6.00 p.m. which is a mixture of informal modern worship songs, prayer and discussion, some reflective time and lots of friendship and fellowship. Tea/coffee/cake or biscuits are available during the evening, with a chance to talk to other church members or visitors. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the evening. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God. You can relax, have refreshment, have a chat and generally make yourself feel “at home”. Alternatively, you can just sit, chat, relax or watch what is going on. Café Worship is for all ages-from the very young to the not quite so young! Why not come along and find out that “Church” is not always what you expect it to be!
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you’re not.
What should I expect?
For many people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here’s a quick summary of what you can expect at Wednesfield. Remember that we all had a ‘first day’ at church – you’ll find we are friendly people! If you don’t understand something please simply ask.
We start our worship at 11.00 a.m. by our call to worship. Our worship time consists of a mixture of traditional and modern hymns and songs, Bible readings, and sometimes images, video clips or activities to accompany a talk by the worship leader.
We begin our ‘Cafe Worship’ at 6.00 p.m. and details are as above.
What do we believe?
We are a Christian church and believe that all can have a relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God’s only son) who invites us to follow him. We have friendly relationships with other local churches from both traditional and modern backgrounds. If you are interested in exploring the Christian faith then please come along on a Sunday or contact the Minister for more information.
